The Skyline PTSA provides an SAT preparatory course for students at Skyline through SAT Prep, Inc., as well as a mock SAT test and mock ACT test for practice for our students.

The Issaquah Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization that drives resources to help all students in the Issaquah School District reach the promise of their academic potential. They do this by bridging the gap between funds the state provides for basic education and the dollars our schools need to prepare students for success in school and life.

Skyline PTSA funds Spartan Grants in 2 cycles – Fall and Spring. The PTSA on average budgets $10,000 each year ($7,000/Fall and $3,000/Spring). These grants directly benefit both staff and students and are funded through PTSA fundraisers. Spartan Grants provide an opportunity for SHS staff applicants to purchase materials and equipment that support Skyline’s academic program that are not funded by more traditional sources.

Skyline PTSA annually facilitates the National PTA Reflections Program. A fine arts competition is held at Skyline and entries are selected to move onto the Council level.

Parent volunteers help support and fundraise for the staff and students of the International Baccalaureate Program. Over 60% of the juniors and seniors participate in IB, and the PTSA provides the necessary parent support for this growing program.

Got funding? A Skyline PTSA Student Enrichment Grant may be the ticket. These grants will fund specific learning opportunities at Skyline High School when other resource pathways are not available (e.g., Booster Club, ASB, school district budget, etc.) ANY student may apply for a grant and ANY student may participate in the approved grant programming which results from a successful application. The application process and criteria are straightforward and results will be communicated quickly.

Each January the membership elects 3 people to handle Nominating Committee responsibilities. This committee secures nominations to PTSA Board officers, President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary. The committee then makes their recommendations to the membership by posting the slated names a minimum of 15 days prior to election at a GM mtg. in the Spring.

Skyline PTSA membership sends a strong message of unity in all advocacy work taking place in the state and the district towards graduation requirements and basic education funding. Members receive email messages detailing our programs and advocacy activities about twice a month, in addition to a student directory.

Skyline PTSA hosts a luncheon for the entire school staff at the beginning of the school year, holds appreciation days about five times a year, and coordinates Staff Appreciation Week in May.

Volunteer Opportunities: We always need lots of volunteers to donate food items. It is a great way to volunteer. It makes the staff very happy and that happiness spreads to your children that they serve everyday. They love it and really appreciation the kind gesture.
